Welcome to Amorosa Pasta House, a charming Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of Burnaby, BC. Located at 7870 Edmonds St, Amorosa has become a beloved local favorite over the past 32 years, inviting guests into a warm and welcoming atmosphere perfect for both casual dining and special celebrations.

As you step inside, you’re greeted by a cozy ambiance filled with the aromatic scents of authentic Italian cuisine. The restaurant exudes a sense of community, where many patrons are greeted by name and often order “the usual.” This inviting vibe is not just about the food—it’s about the experience. You can easily see why diners rave about the hospitality here, with staff like Eugenia going above and beyond to make every meal memorable.

The menu is a delightful showcase of classic Italian dishes that highlight the best of fresh ingredients and traditional recipes. Start your meal with the Appetizer Combo (CA$26.00), a tantalizing selection of calamari, garlic prawns, and spinach rolls that arrive beautifully plated and bursting with flavor. The calamari is cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender within, setting the tone for what’s to come.

For your main course, indulge in the Tortellini Brodo (CA$9.50), featuring fresh tortellini lovingly served in a rich chicken broth that wraps you in comforting warmth with each spoonful. Or perhaps try the Spinach Roll (CA$10.00)—a modern twist on the traditional spanakopita, brimming with feta cheese and deep-fried until golden, providing the perfect balance of crunch and creaminess.

If seafood calls to you, the Tiger Prawn Spinach Salad (CA$21.00) is a delightful choice, with succulent prawns sautéed with aromatic garlic, bell peppers, and onions, all elegantly resting over a bed of fresh spinach. For meat lovers, the Lamb Shoulder remains a crowd favorite, expertly cooked and served at under CA$30, offering remarkable value for an exquisite dish.

Reviewers like desmaniak have expressed their initial hesitancy at the menu prices but were soon won over by the enormous portion sizes and the delectable flavors—especially the double layer sauce that accompanies many of the pastas. Other guests have commented on the handmade pasta that is cooked precisely to al dente perfection, while customers reminisce about their favorable experiences of sharing plates and savoring moments over delicious food and friendly banter.

Despite the variety of options, diners consistently agree that the Amorosa Pasta House feels like a second home, where every meal is prepared with care and presented with joy. Whether you're enjoying a quiet date night or celebrating a special occasion, this gem offers a dining experience that is truly fulfilling, both in taste and in ambiance. When I initially saw the menu I thought wow $20 pasta that’s kinda expensive, but the portion size was huge and the pasta was flavourful with great sauce. The service was very welcoming. The double layer sauce was delicious.

Food was very good from the pasta to the Slovakia, reasonably priced like most of past houses in Burnaby and new Westminster. Service was excellent. Overall I gave a four because I really don’t know what a five is. If you order a large pasta, be prepared to take home leftovers for the next couple of days.

Pasta was excellent, it tasted fresh and the sauce was quite creamy. Portion size was just enough, not bad but it wasn't huge either. I ordered a size of scallops but they were whole scallops sliced thin which was disappointing. Calamari was excellent, done just right.

A lovely place to have a quiet dinner. The sauce on pasta definitely was freshly made, quite delicious. And the pasta was handmade too, cooked to the right texture not mushy at all. Hubby had lamb shoulder and happy at his dish. Karamari was crispy outside and tender inside, and very fresh. The staff was friendly. We were full so didn't try dessert, this will be next time. By the way, I love those paintings on the walls.

(Updating my review from 3 years ago. Still love this place and it’s a shame we have to come from Richmond because there isn’t really anything like it there. The servings are still great value, especially the lamb shoulder under $30) A great little neighbourhood pasta house. The service great, the food better. A generous serving of pasta at very fair prices. Not that much more than Spaghetti Factory but way better. I light the sauces as they feel very rich but not heavy. Another bonus is the very reasonable drinks menu. From pop to wine, enjoy one for less than almost any other restaurant.

Today we went here to celebrate my sisters birthday. Man, I honestly had no idea how it would turn out, but our experience at Amoroso has exceeded our expectations! Eugenia was very kind and went above and beyond to serve us, filling our waters every time we needed more. She told us the restaurant has been open for 32 years. I saw regular customers ordering "the usual". Like a scene out of a movie. The atmosphere is dark and ambient- very romantic. They offer a free birthday pasta (you bring ID for proof), and have HUGE servings!! They were as big as Anton's! The price is reasonable with the gigantic portions. The cheesecake is a must-have. It's double baked and comes with a candle if it's your birthday! I'm definitely coming back here again, and I 100% recommend this place.
